Where do we meet at Muscat cruise port?

The planned meeting location is the taxi parking area serving Port Sultan Qaboos. We confirm the exact meeting point and directions before your visit, according to the arrangements for your ship.

Follow your cruise line’s disembarkation and port-transfer instructions. Do not assume the driver can meet you directly beside the ship or at the gangway.

Your five hours start when you meet the driver, not when the ship docks.

A suggested five-hour Muscat shore excursion

The order and length of stops depend on your arrival, traffic, opening hours and agreed return time.

  1. Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque

For a suitable morning arrival, start with the mosque. Its official visitor information lists non-Muslim visiting hours as 8:30–11:00 a.m., Saturday to Thursday. Access may change for religious events or operational reasons.

Admission arrangements are checked before the visit. Any applicable entry fees are outside the vehicle price.

  2. Royal Opera House Muscat

Stop for exterior photographs. An interior visit or performance is not included in this itinerary.

  3. Al Alam Palace and Old Muscat

Enjoy an exterior palace photo stop and the surrounding historic setting. Palace entry is not included.

  4. Mutrah Souq and Corniche

Allow time for shopping or a waterfront walk, adjusted to shop opening hours and your preferred pace.

  5. Return to the agreed port drop-off point

The route includes the return drive. The planned return time allows a buffer for port procedures and getting back to your ship.

How we plan around your all-aboard time

Send the ship’s all-aboard time, not only its departure time. We agree the meeting and return schedule before the tour, allowing for driving, port transfers and boarding procedures.

Please confirm whether the times you provide are ship time or local time.

If your ship arrives late, waiting is not charged. However, a late start may leave less time for sightseeing. We review the achievable route with you before starting rather than keeping stops that would conflict with the agreed return schedule.

Additional hours cost OMR 7 each and must be agreed in advance. An extension is only possible when your ship’s schedule allows.

Friday and afternoon arrivals

The mosque is not open to non-Muslim visitors on Fridays. Afternoon arrivals are also outside its published visiting hours.

For these arrivals, we plan around available exterior photo stops, Old Muscat, the Corniche and the souq when shops are open. An interior mosque visit is not promised.

Vehicle size and practical needs

The Toyota Sienna accommodates up to seven passengers in this offer. Bring small day bags and leave large suitcases on the ship.

For eight to fourteen passengers, request a quotation for a Toyota Hiace. The OMR 50 rate does not apply to this larger vehicle.

Tell us the ages of travelling children and any walking or mobility needs before booking. Any seating or vehicle requirements must be confirmed; do not assume a particular facility is available.

What to wear and bring

For the mosque, wear modest clothing covering shoulders and legs. Women should also cover their hair. Men should wear long trousers.

Bring comfortable walking shoes, sun protection and any documents your cruise line requires for going ashore. During hot weather, we adjust outdoor stops and use the air-conditioned vehicle between visits.

How to book

  1. Send your ship name, visit date, arrival and all-aboard times, and passenger count.
  2. We confirm availability, the route, price and meeting arrangements.
  3. Pay by credit card through the secure online payment link supplied with your booking.
  4. Meet your driver at the confirmed location.

Cancellation is free.
